BOWIE BUFFALOGRASS (Buchole dactyloides)
According to University reports, Buffalo grass is among the most drought tolerant grasses. Because of its drought tolerance, low nutritional requirements and short stature, it is drawing increasing a6en.on for its potential as a low maintenance Turf grass for western lawns. Buffalo grass is classified as “California Friendly” by California Water Agencies and recommended for use in land scares as a low water user. Buffalo grass is a permanent, low growing, warm season grass. It produces vigorous stolons and exhibits excellent drought and wear tolerance. It is not tolerant to shady areas. Bowie Buffalo grass is an improved variety that exhabits fine leaf texture, good turf density, and a low growth habit.

ZOYSIA JAPONICA Varieties Zenith and Compadre
Zoysia is a warm season grass that exhibits a medium texture and medium to dark green color. It forms a very dense turf by spreading above ground (stolons) and underground (rhizomes). Since zoysia is slow growing it is less invasive than bermuda grass and needs less mowing than other types of grasses. Like other warm season grasses, zoysia will go dormant and turn brown during cold winter months but will green up in early spring. Zoysia has moderate shade tolerance.
