Working with a tight commercial landscape budget?
It can be challenging to deliver commercial landscaping with that “wow” factor, on a tight budget. Much of your budget may be set aside for sod and ground cover which can be expensive from both a material and labor perspective. Consider hydroseeding as an effective alternative. Hydroseeding will cost pennies on the dollar and will often deliver superior results, in less time. The money you save can be invested in more dramatic softscapes (ornamentals, trees, and shrubs) that elevate your project design, allowing you to create something to be truly proud of.
There are some preconceived notions about hydroseeding results in commercial circles, but done right – hydroseeding can deliver superior, lasting results every bit as good if not better than sod, or potted ground cover plantings. Hydroseeding is not broad cast seeding. It is far more sophisticated. Most all sod is the result of hydroseeding. The only difference is the hydroseeding is done on site, for much less. For that reason, you may often get a better result because you match the seed selection to the specific setting and micro climate.
Commercial Hydroseeding
When planting large areas, hydroseeding can be completed in a relatively short amount of time. There are a number of seed options for turf, ground cover, flowers and more. It can be very effective for hillsides and sloped areas and will help with erosion control. Results are often quick with high germination rates producing growth with in a week. Ready for mowing or maintenance within 3–4 weeks from the date of application. Fiber mulch can be used to accelerate the growing process and will help maintain moisture around the seeds thereby increasing the rate of germination.
